About the event

As the COVID 19 global pandemic has, through false political narrative, directed causative responsibility toward the Asian American Community, hate crimes against individuals of Asian descent have increased. We hold fast and stand together, as a community, through all circumstances. We explicitly recognize this divisiveness as debilitating for those being “targeted” and for our community at large. The El Cerrito Human Relation Commission stands united against hate and holds the rising violence against our Asian American brothers and sisters as intolerable acts against humanity.

In response, the El Cerrito Human Relations Commission, in collaboration with the Youth Solidarity Project, will host a series of story sharing sessions opening space to witness, celebrate and better understand the strengths and struggles of our Asian American community. Join our community as we stand united against the rise of Anti-Asian violence and hate!

Our first session is on Wednesday, April 14th at 6:30pm. The series will continue on through June every other Wednesday. Register for the event through this Eventbrite link!

Additionally, if you are interested in sharing a story or know someone who may be, please contact the HRC at their email: hrc.elcerrito@gmail.com
