Justice for Jacob Blake

Two weeks ago this Saturday, we secured a banner over I-80 on the Berkeley Marina overpass. The day after, YSP member Sarah Khan wrote the following after our banner was nowhere to be found.

Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man, was shot 7 times in the back by officer Rusten Sheskey in Kenosha, WI on Sunday 8/23. His three children were present. Mr. Blake is being hospitalized and faces paralysis from the waist down. Yet Rusten Sheskey still remains a police officer, free to continue his brutality in the streets. Justice remains to be served.

Yesterday, we made our message loud and clear over the Berkeley I-80 Pedestrian Bridge. The banner has already been cut down in an attempt to silence our voice, but we cannot, must not, and will not let this hatred stifle us. The fight will and must go on. Justice for Jacob Blake. Black Lives Matter.
